Switzerland, founded in 1291, one of the oldest countries in Europe. Home to numerous lakes, villages and the high peaks of the Alps. Its cities contain medieval quarters, with landmarks like capital Bern’s Zytglogge, clock tower and breathtaking mountain resorts. The country is also known for its ski resorts and hiking trails. This tour offers U13/U15 Ice Hockey Players with their parents and family to visit Switzerland with the participation in Exhibition Games and Tournaments. Thomas and Heather invite you to experience the real Switzerland for the best possible price!
DAY 1, 07.03.24, Thursday
AYR – FLIGHT TORONTO – ZURICH
Optional transfer in luxury bus to Toronto Pearson Airport. Pick up at Cedar Creek School and at NDCC.
Depart with AC 880 (Air Canada) at 9.15pm from Toronto Pearson Airport to Zürich on a direct overnight flight in 7hrs 35min.
DAY 2, 08.03.24, Friday
ARRIVE IN ZURICH – TRANSFER TO DIELSDORF – REGENSBERG & SCHOEFFLISDORF
Arrive at 10.50am local time at Zürich Airport. Meet and greet by your host and guide Thomas. Transfer (20min) in a luxury bus to Dielsdorf, a village at the foot of a small mountain and its castle. Check in at the Hotel Restaurant Löwen. Parents, some hockey players, and family check in here. After receiving room keys and dropping off luggage we all drive to the neighbouring village Schöfflisdorf, situated in the Wehntal with a view to the Regensberg with its castle. We visit Regensberg en Route to the next stop. Regensberg: a village and castle on top of the mountain and enjoy the view! We then continue to Schöfflisdorf. Some players, family and coaches stay here with Heather and Thomas in their Schöfflisdorf House. This historic old farm house in the village next to the church is a five-minute walk to the train station, where a train departs to the Hotel Restaurant Löwen in Dielsdorf every twenty minutes. Thomas will also offer transportation in a minivan to and from the house in Schöfflisdorf to the Hotel Restaurant Löwen in Dielsdorf.
Afterwards we will take you in the minibus to the Coop grocery store. There is a Self-Service Coop Restaurant and some shops all in a walking distance from your hotel.
We enjoy a welcome dinner at the Schöfflisdorf House (dinner included).

EXHIBITION GAME 1 & SWIMMING POOL
Morning at leisure- enjoy your breakfast (included). We then visit the “Sportanlage Erlen”- a sport facility which includes an in and outdoor Swimming Pool with slides, a Wellness Centre and a Self-Service Restaurant. There are also two arenas. This is where practices and some exhibition games will take place.

EXHIBITION GAME 2 & ZUERICH CITY GUIDED WALK – SHOW
Afternoon excursion: we will walk to the train station (5min) and board the train to Zurich (30min.). Thomas will do a guided walking City Tour of Zurich. We end in the old City of Zurich. Return individually by train to Dielsdorf/ Schöfflisdorf (train departs every 20min.). Optional visit with Thomas to Circus Knie in Rapperswil. This is not an ordinary Circus. One of the biggest, best and oldest Circus in the world. This is truly a unique experience. Take advantage of this opportunity- ideal for young an old. We all return by train.

DAY 5, 11.03.24, Monday
PRACTICE & CITY OF BERN – THE CAPITAL
Morning practice at Sport Centre Erlen in Dielsdorf.
Thereafter we all depart by bus to the City of Bern. Thomas will be your guide and show you this beautiful old city. Bern, the capital city of Switzerland, is built around a bend in the Aare River. It traces its origins back to the 12th century, with medieval architecture preserved in the Altstadt (Old Town). The Swiss Parliament and diplomats meet in the Neo-Renaissance Bundeshaus (Federal Palace). The Französische Kirche (French Church) and the nearby medieval tower known as the Zytglogge both dates back to the 13th century. Bern is also a shopper’s paradise. The Lauben (Arcade) is perfect for a stroll amidst the beautiful buildings lined with shops. This arcade is the oldest in Bern and has been around since the city’s inception. It was a trading point for businesses at the time. One can shop in Bern in any weather and at any time of the year. Bern has enough to satisfy all shoppers and their needs. There are stylish designer boutiques, large shopping malls, street markets as well as quaint little stores selling souvenirs.

DAY 6, 12.03.24, Tuesday
PRACTICE – LUZERN – ZUG & EXHIBITION GAME 3
Practice at the “Sportanlage Erlen” followed by a visit to the pool. Parents also have the opportunity to enjoy the wellness facilities which includes a sauna and massages.
We drive by bus to Lucerne. Visit to a Swiss chocolate factory with its own chocolate museum. The founder and owner of this famous factory travelled with Thomas many years ago! Choose from different ingredients and make your own chocolate bar. Lots of fun! Thereafter time for a walk in the city centre and along the lake. The covered Kapellbrücke (Chapel Bridge), built in 1333, links the old city to the Reuss River’s right bank.

DAVOS – KLOSTERS – GRUESCH – EXHIBITION GAME 4
North-East Graubünden is a region in the canton of Graubünden that includes the ski town Davos and nearby villages of Klosters, Grüsch and Küblis. Davos, the largest alpine town in Europe, is where skiing really began in Switzerland.
This is the home of the Hockey Club Prättigau with various in and outdoor arenas. We explore this beautiful mountain area.

DAY 8, 14.03.24, Thursday
EXCURSION SKI RESORT FLUMSERBERG
We start the day with a 1½ hour (125Km) drive in our luxury bus to the village of Flums and up the mountain pass to Flumserberg. Enjoy the scenery with many Swiss mountain peaks and a relaxing day with walks and a meal or beverage at one of the restaurants. We offer optional sledding, snowboarding or skiing for everyone! The several kilometre long sledding run and the two children’s sledding slopes ensures plenty of fun for the whole family! The start and finish are located in close proximity to the Prodalp-Express gondola station. We assist with sledding and skiing equipment rental. We all return late afternoon with our bus to Schöfflisdorf/Dielsdorf.

DAY 9, 15.03.24, Friday
PRACTICE, SWIMMING POOL & NATIONAL LEAGUE HOCKEY GAME
Enjoy a day at leisure. The boys of the team will have hockey practice followed by swimming or a fun game with the parents and coaches! The sport centre offers skates, sticks, helmets and all equipment rental! Daily public skating includes playing hockey for fun in the arena. Optional late afternoon before departure by train to one of the playoff games in the Swiss National Hockey League.
OPTIONAL DAY EXCURSION LENZERHEIDE & ROTHORN
Optional excursion to Chur, Lenzerheide & Cable Car Ride to the top of the Rothorn. The Parpaner Rothorn is a mountain of the Swiss Alps, overlooking Parpan in the Canton of Graubünden. The summit is easily accessible via a cable car from Lenzerheide, the upper station being located 30 meters below the main summit (3000M/10 000ft).
The team will enjoy a dinner at the house (Pizza dinner for team included). The parents walk to a local bar/restaurant- the “Wii Hüsli” (wine house) for an optional drink or dinner.

CITY OF BADEN MARKET & EXHIBITION GAME 5 IN DIELSDORF
We drive with our luxury bus to Baden (20min.), a city with a beautiful old city. Its mineral hot springs have been famous since at least the Roman era. Enjoy the old City Centre, a large pedestrian zone and its Saturday morning market.
Farewell Dinner at the rented chalet- the “Waldhütte” in Schöfflisdorf. We walk up the hill to the Chalet in the forest. BBQ dinner at an open fire pit (included).

The several-kilometre-long sledding run and the two children's sledding slopes ensure plenty of fun for the whole family. The start and finish are located in close proximity to the Prodalp-Express gondola (cable car) station.
Bern- the Capital of Switzerland dates back to the 12th century. Take part in a guided walk showing you all main attractions. Time to explore more than six kilometers of arcades with shops, restaurants, coffee shops and pubs in the medieval buildings.

Some players, family & coaches will stay in Thomas’ & Heather’s historical and renovated Swiss Tudor Style Farmhouse. This will be the best for team building but is also the most affordable!
A UNIQUE EXPERIENCE: HOCKEY IN SWIZTERLAND
Ice hockey is one of the most popular sports in Switzerland. The Swiss League is the second tier of the main professional league behind the National League. The Spengler Cup is one of the biggest tournements and holds the title of the oldest tournements in the world. There are 208 Ice hockey arenas for a population of 8.7 Mill people in Switzerland. Our tour will include to watch one of the games!
Sportanlage Erlen- Sport Center Erlen, a sport facility which includes an in and outdoor Swimming Pool with slides, a Wellness Centre and a Self-Service Restaurant. There are also two arenas. EV Zug is a professional men’s ice hockey team from Zug. It is a member of the National League and plays its home games at the Bossard Arena. EV Zug won its first championship in the 1997–98 season, and the second one in the 2020-21 season. Many Canadian players contributed to this successful team in the past. Our team will play an exhibition game here.
ZSC Lions, the “Zürcher Schlittschuh Club” is a professional Ice Hockey team located in Zürich playing in the National League. Their home arena is the Swiss Life Arena.
In the Swiss Life Arena, the ZSC Lions create their own world and their new home. The multifunctional orientation of the Swiss Life Arena means the best infrastructure for holding various events and thus completely opens up new possibilities and standards for events. Get to visit the most modern sports and event arena in Switzerland.
The club is constantly involved in the NHL Entry Draft, originally known as the NHL Amateur Draft, which franchises of the NHL systematically select the exclusive rights to available amateur players who meet the eligibility requirements to play professional hockey in the NHL.
