We observe whales and bears, learn about the “First Nations” and the way of life of the Canadians. On foot we explore beautiful cities and take scenic walks in the natural parks. Experience the real Canada in a small group with an experienced tour guide.

DAY 1: FLIGHT TO MONTREAL

Flight to and arrival in Montreal. Welcome by your Tour Guide. Transfer to the hotel.

DAY 2: MONTREAL – QUBEC CITY

City tour, which includes the metropolis, and a walk in the old town and the harbour. Drive to the famous “Mount Royal” where we enjoy a beautiful view of the city and the St. Lawrence River. We leave Montreal at lunch time and drive, part of the way on the royal road «Chemin du Roy», to Quebec City.

DAY 3: QUEBEC CITY

In the morning we walk and explore the old town which has been awarded a cultural heritage site by UNESCO. The afternoon is at leisure.

DAY 4: QUEBEC CITY – TADOUSSAC

Drive to the Basilica of Sainte-Anne-de-Beaupré and «Cap Tourmente». In the afternoon we take a walk in the nature reserve, located on the St. Lawrence River, where we can observe thousands of snow geese.

DAY 5: TADOUSSAC – WHALE & BEAR OBSERVATION

The salt water from the sea often flows upstream into the beautiful Tadoussac Bay. Here whales stay in the St. Lawrence River. With a larger boat we observe different types of whales on our 3-hour trip. In the afternoon drive to the sand dunes and beautiful sandy beaches. Late afternoon bear watching.

DAY 6: SAGUENAY FJORD – LA BAIE

In the morning free time to explore the beautiful village on the bay. Scenic drive through the Saguenay Fjord National Park. We stop and take a short walk to a viewpoint of the fjord – one of the longest at 105km and deepest at 275m fjords in the world!

DAY 7: JAQUES QUARTIER NATIONAL PARK – WENDAKE

We drive along and to Jaques Quartier National Park. In the National Park walk through a beautiful forest with impressive waterfalls. We enjoy a walk and your own picnic at the river in the National Park. In the afternoon we arrive in Wendake. A city of the «Indians»- we overnight in a special hotel of the «First Nations».

DAY 8: WENDAKE – OTTAWA

In the morning we visit a «Long House» of the «First Nations». At Trois-Rivieres we stop at a maple syrup farm and enjoy a typical Canadian Settler lunch. We continue part of the way on the royal road «Chemin du Roy» to Ottawa.

DAY 9: OTTAWA – ALGONQUIN PROVINCIAL PARK

On a guided walk we explore the capital of Canada. In the afternoon we drive to Algonquin Provincial Park, where we spend the following two nights in one of the few lodges. We live in chalets which are only accessible by boat– a real Canadian experience! We will be spoilt with culinary delights!

DAY 10: ALGONQUIN PROVINCIAL PARK

We explore the largest provincial park in Canada with 7640qKm and more than 2400 lakes. Here we hope to find moose, bears and other native wildlife.

DAY 11: TORONTO – NIAGARA FALLS

We continue to Toronto and have lunch in the 350m high revolving restaurant of the CN Tower (553m above sea level). We enjoy the fantastic view of the city of Toronto. Tonight, we spend the night in a hotel located directly opposite the impressive Niagara Falls.

DAY 12: NIAGARA FALLS – CAMBRIDGE

Opportunity in the morning to individually explore the waterfalls. We continue through the wine region to Niagara on The Lake. A charming small town located at Lake Ontario. After lunch we drive to Cambridge. Visit to a crop farm owned by a Swiss emigrant.

DAY 13: ST. JACOB MENNONITES – TORONTO AIRPORT

We include a stop on the way to the airport: St. Jacob is the “capital” of the Mennonites. We visit the St. Jacob market and then drive to the airport. Arrival at the airport no later than 4.30 pm. Farewell by the Tour Guide and check in for the return flight.

DAY 14: RETURN FLIGHT & ARRIVAL

Arrival- End of the tour.

Thomas is Swiss and has lived in Canada and South Africa for more than 35 years. For many years he worked worldwide as a tour guide and resident manager for Swiss companies: Imholz Travel, Hotelplan, Baumeler and Imbach Wanderreisen. Thomas enjoys to be the tour director for this tour. He has acted as a local guide for many hiking tours in the Algonquin Park and he is looking forward to show you waterfalls, lakes and wildlife!
